Position Overview

Are you a nursing student, CNA, or aspiring healthcare professional looking to gain invaluable, hands-on clinical hours? We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Female Caregiver to provide dedicated, person-centered support to a client residing in Mendota Heights under the Minnesota Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) program.

This position offers a unique opportunity to build strong, one-on-one patient care skills, master Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support, and gain practical experience in healthcare documentation and care plan execution — all while maintaining a schedule that fits around your classes.

Note: Due to the intimate nature of personal care and grooming requirements requested by the client, a female caregiver is preferred for this position.

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Experience Gained

  • Direct Patient Care (ADLs) Assist the client with high-dignity personal care routines including bathing, grooming, and toileting (incontinence care).
  • Mobility & Transfer Support Assist with safe transfers and ambulation, practicing proper body mechanics and client safety protocols.
  • Care Plan Utilization Review and follow a formalized CFSS individual service delivery plan, gaining exposure to healthcare compliance and care coordination.
  • Observation & Reporting Monitor the client's physical and emotional well-being, practicing the critical clinical skill of identifying and reporting changes in condition.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Compassionate & Reliable A strong desire to provide respectful, high-quality care that preserves client dignity.
  • Healthcare-Minded Current Nursing/CNA students, Pre-Med students, or experienced Home Health Aides are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Background Clearance Must be able to clear a standard Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) NETStudy 2.0 background check and fingerprinting.
  • CFSS Training Must complete the free, brief state-mandated online CFSS caregiver training module prior to the start date.
  • Transportation Reliable transportation to and from the client's residence in Mendota Heights.

Why Choose This Role?

  • Clinical Foundation Build the baseline patient-interaction skills that hospitals and clinics look for on healthcare resumes.
  • Consistent, Short Shifts Perfect for fitting into a flexible daily routine or supplementing your studies without the burnout of 12-hour hospital shifts.
  • One-on-One Impact Move away from high patient-to-staff ratios and focus entirely on making a difference for one individual.
